MACT is involved in economic empowerment of women and young girls in Rajalipatty village. Prior to any skill training, MACT undertakes a needs assessment and market feasibility study to ensure marketability of the products.
MACT has also been involved in door to door training in 5 villages of Trichy and 24 villages of Pudukottai in Tamilnadu state were being covered. This was done as rural women were restricted to household work and cannot move out their houses, hence they were given trainings at their homes.
Skill training on door mat preparation, greeting cards preparation, Wire bags & telephone mat preparations, Candle Preparation, Tailoring, pickle making, puppetry, Ayurvedic medicinal trainings in which women were trained to make medicine through getting available herbal plants and use these medicinal plants, Vermi compost organic manure preparation, Paper made bags etc were given to target communities over the year.
MACT is a member of CIOSA (Confederation of Indian Organization for Service and Advocacy). MACT has the opportunity to have one stall to display and sell these products at the exhibitions organised by CIOSA.
Director of MACT and staff have also undergone special training for Small scale enterprise development in Gandhi Gram University in Dindugul district, which have increased their expertise on micro – enterprise.
